Hi! I'm Ms. Joy!
I am a Texas certified teacher of 18 years. I have a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Early Childhood Education. I have a Masters in Educational Leadership/Administration and aiming for my EdD in Educational Leadership.
I am passionate about teaching children and being a part of their growth and development. My philosophy is that ALL children CAN and WILL learn. I specialize in getting to know each UNIQUE child and nurturing their God Given Gifts.

My small class of 12 or less children allows your child to be comfortable and grow valuable friendships with the other students and teacher. Because conflict-resolution skills are super vital to learn at this age, I help your child work through their problems with other children. Pretty soon they’re using the same strategies and words we’ve taught them, all by themselves!

Your child will receive individualized instruction through our thorough assessments and curriculum. I will guide your child in the areas they need to improve, and challenge them when they’re ready for more. My balance of teacher-guided and child-initiated hands-on activities follows the NAEYC guidelines to strengthen your whole child’s development: Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical.

Teaching children is a huge responsibility, and I take that responsibility seriously! I am CPR/1st Aid Certified and our distinct policies and procedures regarding health and safety help to keep your child in a safe, clean environment. We’re constantly cleaning, washing hands, and monitoring all activities to prevent any accidents.

To extend our learning we will have several field trips each year, and you get to join your child on them. We will visit places like: the Zoo, Parks, Police Station, Fire Station, Popcorn Store, Library, Chucky Cheese, Pumpkin Patch, and more! We’ll also celebrate special occasions with parties for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and your child’s birthday!

Each year, your child will receive a different t-shirt for that school year to wear on Spirit Days. We also save some of your child’s work for a special portfolio you will get at our end of the year Bridging Ceremony.

When should I call to register my child?
It’s never too early to call, so call as soon as you even think about registering, because our classes fill up fast!
How old does my child need to be to attend?
Preschool classes are for children who are ages 3-5 by Sep. 1.
Early Elementary is for children ages 5-9 Kindergarten- 3rd grade
Does my child have to be potty trained?
Yes. If you have any questions about whether or not your child is ready, feel free to give us a call. We even have a “How To Potty Train” your child handout we can give you. It’s helped many preschool moms quickly potty train their kids. We’re here to help!
What is your teaching philosophy?
We follow a “whole child” philosophy where we work with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Our curriculum is based on the NAEYC guidelines and features a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated hands-on activities to accomplish these goals. We also incorporate Fundamentals Preschool Curriculum. Your child will learn to socialize, make friends, develop social and emotional skills, and be more than ready for Kindergarten!
Early Elementary curriculum will follow the Texas State Standards but will not have to take the STAAR test. Their will be 3 benchmark assessments each school year. Students will receive progress report every 6-8 weeks.
Are there additional fees during the year?
No. Your registration fee covers all your child’s supplies and reserves a spot in our program. Your child won’t pay anything to attend most of our field trips and activities. Your child will also receive at no extra cost: a preschool shirt to wear on Spirit Day and a graduation portfolio!
In additional programing offered through the year may have additional fees.
What if my child has food restrictions?
No worries. Several of our students have food intolerances or severe allergies. We ask families to bring in their own lunch, and we provide a nut-free snack. All allergies will be noted and avoided upon notification.
Is the registration fee refundable?
No. The registration fee is nonrefundable.
How many students do you have per class?
We have the small class sizes so your child gets lots of 1-on-1 time. We only have up to 12 students in class.
